Mary's Living and Giving

In the middle of the recession our boss, Mary, saw an opportunity to overhaul charity retail. This became a television series,Mary Queen of Charity Shops, before we partnered with Save the Children to see what could be done on a more long-term basis. 

We came up with ‘Living & Giving’ -a new concept for charity retail. We tested the concept at Westfield (taking £109,000 in 3 weeks) and, working closely with Save the Children,we began to roll out the concept and opened 21 permanent stores.

Mary's Living and Giving stores have generated over £8m of revenue to date and have been the most profitable charity shops inthe UK.
