Our background is in retail and we are at the forefront of its ever-changing landscape and fast evolving media. From bricks and mortar to online subscriptions, traditional advertising to branded content– we embrace the new codes of retail, understanding how and why people buy as well as the all-important bottom line.

This is because many of our team have joined us from the retail space. We know Mondays aren’t a good time to speak because of Trading; we know digital tweaks aren’t always possible overnight because re-platforming has been scheduled; and we get what a shelf wobbler is.
We’re made up of strategists, designers, art directors & communications experts from all over the world, bringing their specialism & diverse backgrounds to the Portas team. Then there's Mary, leading retail expert, and our Founder and Executive Creative Director.
